As a reviewer for the International Interdisciplinary Scientific Journal "Expert" your role is critical in maintaining the quality and integrity of the research we publish. Review Process of Scientific Articles
Initial Assessment
- Upon receiving a manuscript for review, assess your ability to review the work effectively. This includes evaluating whether you have the necessary expertise and whether there are any conflicts of interest.
- If you feel unqualified or unable to provide a timely review, notify the editor immediately.
Confidentiality
- Treat the manuscript as a confidential document. Do not discuss its content with anyone not directly involved in the review process.
- Avoid using information obtained from the manuscript for your own research without the express written consent of the author.
Objective Evaluation
- Review the manuscript objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
- Focus on the scientific merit, originality, relevance to the field, technical quality, clarity of presentation, and depth of research.
- Evaluate the adequacy of the methodology, the accuracy and interpretation of the results, and the clarity and relevance of the conclusions (see Manuscript Review Form for structured evaluation criteria).
Constructive Criticism
- Provide clear, constructive feedback. Highlight both strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript.
- Suggest improvements and offer specific recommendations for changes. If you recommend rejection, explain your reasoning in a manner that is useful for both the authors and the editor. The evaluation should be clearly structured in accordance with the Manuscript Review Form.
Identifying Published Work
- Ensure that the manuscript appropriately cites relevant published work. If you are aware of significant works that are not cited, bring them to the attention of the editor.
Reporting Ethical Concerns
- If you suspect plagiarism, fraud, or other ethical concerns, communicate them to the editor immediately (see Review Ethics for detailed procedures).
Completing the Review
- Complete your review within the specified time frame as indicated in the Manuscript Review Form. If you need an extension, inform the editor as soon as possible.
- Provide a clear recommendation to the editor about the suitability of the manuscript for publication. Your recommendation should be recorded using the Manuscript Review Form.
Submission of Reviews
- Completed review reports must be submitted via the journal’s Online Review System.
Post-Review Follow-Up
- Be willing to provide further advice to the editor if requested, especially in cases where the authors have revised their manuscript in response to your comments.
